Grown children leaving the nest and returning with grandchildren gave this Scarsdale home a layered warmth that we wanted to capture and highlight. We worked with the vision of the homeowner, an architect, to draw visual attention to original architectural elements in the rooms that create a sense of depth and dimension.
We were privileged to transform a childhood bedroom in a way that helped this ever-growing family adapt and evolve. The first phase of renovations included two dedicated guest rooms, one grandchild’s room, a home office and two bathrooms.
YDC Design also had the opportunity to use several handmade accessories from Indego Africa – a socially-conscious company that supports artisan women in Rwanda. Using items created by artisans, a cause close to our heart, gives our projects a unique sense of connectedness that we strive for in our work.
